Commencement Speaker 2025
DCS alumnus Chelsea Doig Shields will be the guest speaker for the Class of 2025 commencement ceremony.
Mrs. Chelsea Doig Shields, a 2013 graduate of Downsville Central School, went on to earn her bachelor's degree in Public and Community Health from Ithaca College, where she was honored with the Professional Excellence Award in 2017. She continued her education at the University of Massachusetts College of Pharmacy, earning her master's degree and becoming a certified physician assistant. Chelsea then returned to the area to serve her community by practicing rural primary care medicine. Her care and dedication were recognized in 2022 when she was awarded Practitioner of the Year. She currently works for UHS, where she continues to provide care to the area's pediatric population. Chelsea currently lives in Downsville with her husband, Anthony, and their beloved rescue dog, Rue.

As we begin to prepare for the summer program, we're asking families to fill out the enrollment survey (see link below) to gauge interest. As you may know, our summer program is no longer grant funded and therefore some slight changes have been made to fit our budget. One of the biggest being self-transport. Please take a moment to complete the form to help us plan for staffing and other summer program needs. All details regarding the program are included in the top section of the form.
