Welcome Back Party and Parade of Athletes is still on. If there is inclement weather both events will be inside.

A drone will be used this evening to take aerial shots of the events held at the DCSD grounds (Welcome Back Party and the Flannery/Campbell Soccer Tournament). This drone has been authorized to do so.

Due to the Welcome Back Party and Parade of Athletes, there will be no 5:30 late bus tomorrow, Thursday September 7. The following are the shuttle times to Walton to pick up athletes: -5:15pm all modified field hockey, varsity and modified soccer players will be picked up. -5:50pm all other teams will be picked up (Volleyball, Football) Food will be provided for all athletes when they arrive. 6:45 – 7:15 - Parade of Athletes, all athletes will be announced and recognized. Any student wishing to leave prior to the end of the Varsity Soccer games (approximately 9 pm) can be signed out early. Any student needing transportation back to Walton will take the shuttle after the game. Should there be inclement weather, the Parade of Athletes will be cancelled. We will notify everyone before 4 pm.

First Day of School - WELCOME BACK!

The first day of school for all Downsville students is tomorrow, Wednesday, September 6th. Just a few reminders! The school day starts at 7:50 am with doors opening and breakfast available beginning at 7:30 am. 7-12 students are dismissed at 2:33 pm, and grades PK-6 will be dismissed at 2:36 pm. BOCES students (CTE programs and Special Education) will begin on Thursday, September 7th.  Students in half day CTE programs may arrive late/leave early on September 6th with parent permission. Breakfast and lunch continue to be FREE for ALL students. We can't wait to see you all! 🦅 👏🏻 👏🏻

No School - Staff Development Day

As the 23-24 school year approaches we are excited to introduce some of our new teaching staff here at DCS! Meet Mrs. Pringle 📚📝 🦅 Hello Downsville School Community!  My name is Ellen Pringle, and I will be teaching 7-12 ELA. I have been teaching for 22 years and cannot wait to extend my enthusiasm for what I teach, with the kids of DCS. One of my favorite things about teaching is building relationships with the students and encouraging them as they grow and learn. I love reading with my classes and embarking on journeys to places we have never been and meeting characters who become our companions.   Currently, I live in Delhi with my two incredible kids. I am originally from New Jersey. I absolutely love kayaking, hiking, swimming, cooking, and spending time with my kids. Oh yes, and do not forget ice cream. I love ice cream!   I am thrilled to be a part of the DCS community! It is wonderful to be surrounded by people who are welcoming and eager to build connections. The prospect of contributing positively to the students of Downsville fills me with such joy for what the future holds for all of us!  Here is to a fantastic 2023-2024 school year!

Attention!! Late Bus Updates/Changes! There will only be one late bus this fall. It will depart at 5:30pm. There will be no late buses after away games. Students must be picked up from the game or the school. Due to the Welcome Back Party and Parade of Athletes, there will be no late bus on Thursday 9/7.

My name is Meghan Barnes, I am an alumni of DCS and currently live in the Downsville area with my husband and three children. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to return to DCS as the Crisis Intervention Specialist. I have experience in the human services field and I am looking forward to taking what I have learned over the last 16 years and utilizing it to help DCS students, faculty and families in any way I can.  Here’s to a great year ahead!
