2022 Ehlermann-Fedderke Scholarship
The annual scholarship provided by The Ehlermann Fedderke Descendants Foundation Trust, for graduating seniors and also former graduates of Delaware County public high schools who will be pursuing an Associate, Bachelor or Master’s Degree in education, the physical sciences, engineering or other related technical fields. The late Geraldine M. Stiefel, a graduate of Charlotte Valley Central School, set up a scholarship trust to benefit students of Delaware County. All completed applications must be submitted by Friday, April 15, 2022 for consideration. All aspects of the application will be reviewed by a selection committee and special attention will be given to students who demonstrate:
- Scholastic achievement, evidencing the ability to complete the applicant’s course of study
- Extracurricular activities
- Good character and maturity, reflecting lifetime skills such as teamwork, responsibility, enthusiasm, independence, respect, honesty, integrity and industriousness
- Financial need
Students who intend to major in engineering shall be awarded the James L. Knak Engineering Memorial Scholarship. The awarding of this scholarship at the student’s high school graduation shall include the reading of a biographical sketch of James L. Knak which will be provided at a later date. Students pursuing degrees in education, the physical sciences and other related technical fields will be awarded the Ehlermann-Fedderke Descendants Foundation Scholarship.

Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans, Inc
In keeping with the mission of the Horatio Alger Association, the scholarship programs provide financial assistance to students throughout the nation who have significant financial need and have exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity. The scholarships are given to deserving students each year and range in award value from $10,000 to $25,000
This year the focus of their National and State Scholarship Programs to award high school JUNIORS instead of seniors.

The Delaware County American Legion Committee is again offering 4(four) $250.00 college scholarships, based on high school academics, but we are taking a closer look at community and extra-curricular activities. Downsville seniors are invited to apply for these four competitive awards.

Ask about the $300 6th District Scholarship. This is for any senior who would like to compose a 300 word essay on the Flag of Our Nation and what it means to them. This is a separate scholarship.

Hagan Scholarship
The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship designed to help rural students graduate college debt-free. The Hagan Scholarship Foundation has awarded over 2,400 scholarships. Over 600 more scholarships can be awarded in April 2022. The scholarship provides up to $48,000 over four years to attend college and other benefits. Hagan Scholars are currently attending 378 colleges and universities located in 46 states .

Chen-Del-O Federal Credit Union members will be competing with other high school students from our credit union membership for the chance to win one of three $500 scholarship awards offered. Qualifying students much be members f the Chen-Del-O Federal Credit Union and a college-bound high school senior at the time of application. Applicants will be judged on academic performance, extracurricular and community activities, quality of written essay on their career and education goals, and a teacher's reference.
All applications much be IN by the END OF BUSINESS DAY ON February 11, 2022.

SFCU ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP
To help further the education of our local high-school seniors, sfcu is participating in the New York Credit Union Association’s Statewide College Scholarship Program. Last year, this program awarded over $30,000 in scholarships to 41 students across New York State with award amounts ranging from $500 to $1,500. In addition, sfcu awarded $10,000 in scholarships to local students through this scholarship program.
College-bound high-school seniors who have an account with sfcu are invited to apply for these scholarships to be used at a two or four-year accredited educational institution.
