Hello, my name is Josh Evans, and I am excited to be joining Downsville Central School as the Kindergarten teacher this upcoming school year!
For the past four years, I have worked as a Special Education Teaching Assistant at Livingston Manor Central School and Rockland Central. I graduated with my master’s degree from Long Island University.
Outside of school, I enjoy coaching football, basketball, and baseball, as well as golfing, hunting, and snowmobiling.
I am looking forward to being a part of the Downsville community, getting to know my students and their families, and having a great school year! I can’t wait to get started!

Hello, DCS Community! My name is Meghan Barnes, and I’m thrilled to join the DCS family as a Special Education teacher!
I’ve lived in Downsville for most of my life and am proud to be a DCS alumna. I recently earned my Master’s degree in Special Education from WGU. For the past two years, I’ve taught at a preschool serving children with developmental delays and disabilities. Before discovering my passion for teaching, I worked with children and families in the human services field.
I love working with children, and those with developmental disabilities hold a special place in my heart, as I am also a parent to a child with special needs.
Outside of school, I’m a busy mom of three, keeping up with their sports and activities! When I have some “me” time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and close friends, as well as riding horses.
I’m looking forward to an amazing school year and getting to know the students and families of DCS!

Welcome Ms. Crandall!
Hello, DCS Community! My name is Carissa Crandall, and I’m a proud Walton alumna. I earned my degree in Physical Education from SUNY Delhi and SUNY Cortland, as well as my master’s degree in Health and Wellness Education from the American College of Education. Before coming to DCS, I spent the past three years teaching and coaching at Unadilla Valley CSD.
I’m looking forward to meeting everyone and can’t wait for an awesome school year!

The DCS Fitness Center will be open Tuesday and Thursday from 4:00pm to 5:00pm this week.

Yoga Flow & Tone will start this Wednesday 8/5. Door opens at 5p. Class starts 5:15pm

DCS Fitness Center will be open this week Tuesday and Thursday from 4:00 to 5:00.
Monday-Friday mornings 5:30-7am
Reminder: The school playground will be closed to the public Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. while our Summer Program is in session.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation; the playground will reopen to the public after 1:00 p.m. each day.
