The Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) is hiring
recreation staff for the summer camping season.
The Bureau of Recreation operates 52 public Campgrounds and 5 Day Use Areas
throughout the Adirondack and Catskill Parks. Over 500 seasonal employees are hired to
provide a variety of services throughout the summer season. All levels of experience and
skill sets are needed that range from supervisors, security, maintenance, lifeguards,
cleaning staff, and booth workers. Some positions start as early as May, but varying start
dates can be accommodated based on school or work schedules. Depending on the
candidate’s desired work location, free housing or site accommodations may be available.
The DEC is looking for:
• Campground Management
• Park and Recreation Aides (Campground Attendants)
• Conservation Security Workers
• Lifeguards
All applicants must be willing to work weekends and holidays throughout the summer. If
